Howdy there & happy Thursday eve!
It’s been a deliriously busy week, and I am thankful that there is just one more day till the weekend. I plan on doing absolutely nothing, except a little bit of eating :). This post is from two weeks ago, when I was lucky enough to be invited to Kazbah in Darling Harbour to try out their Royal Dinner Feast menu. Focusing on Middle Eastern cuisine, we were served a beautiful array of dishes, which use a mixture of Turkish, Persian, Moroccan, Mediterranean and even North African ingredients and techniques. The food was plentiful, cooked to perfection and extremely flavoursome. I’ll definitely be heading back again for the Lamb Shoulder Tagine & the beautiful Kazbah Bomb dessert, which was the perfect end to the meal.
Enjoy the pictures and try not to drool too much ;).
No great meal can be enjoyed without some cocktails.
Spicy Lamb Mince & Pinenut Boreks served with Tzatziki.
In the centre; the Fried Cauliflower, Eggplant Jam, Pinenuts, Yoghurt Tahini Sauce.
Kataifi wrapped Prawns & Muhamara sauce.
On the right; the BBQ Garlic & Harissa Marinated Octopus with Skorthalia.
The wonderful Chef who spoke to us so passionately about the food that he and his team had been serving up for us that evening. Thank you Chef! :)
My favourite from the evening, The Casablanca Royale Tagine, which is the perfect dish for this chilly winter weather. Inside the sizzling tagine was 12 hour Braised Lamb Shoulder, Roast Vegetables and Sultana Jam.
The Carrot Steamed Cous Cous and Rice Pilaf to accompany the Tagine.
An extra dish that the Chef served up for us, Lamb Shanks in an aromatically Spiced Sauce.
Fattoush Salad perfection.
Thick cut Fries with the Kazbah Seasoning.
The Roasted duck with Falafel, Honey Baked Quince and Sweet Potato Chips. Another must order in my opinion!
The extremely tender Lemon Baharat Chicken Shish Kebab with a Mixed Nut Pilaf, Caraway Capsicum Crème Fraîche and Parsley Pesto Sauce.
Last but not least, the Whole Baked Baby Snapper with a Pistachio Samke Hara Sauce.
A fantastic finish with a theatrical display. The Kazbah Bomb, a Turkish Delight Ice Cream mass with Blueberries that was set alight with Kurrant Vodka to brown the Meringue.
The Chef also brought out this special little number for us, the Umm Ali. Very similar to a bread & butter pudding but 10x better. This version is made with Croissant (so so good), Rosewater, Nuts, Rasins and Spices and then baked. Comfort food done so well!
Overall we had a fantastic night, and being a group dinner we got to share the wonderful meal with other food lovers who were wowed by the food just as much as we were.
Thank you xxx
