Best pizza in Rome? Yes, I think I may have found it. If you’re in Rome, travelling to Rome, planning a trip to Rome or just day dreaming about Rome….put this place on your list. I first heard about Gabriele Bonci and Pizzarium from my idol; Anthony Bourdain. I have a big obsession with his tv show ‘No Reservations’ (yes I watch it religiously, it discovers the two best things in this world..travel & food) and after seeing the layover episode in Rome, I wrote this place down as a must visit. Pizzarium serves pizza al taglio, which translates to pizza by the slice. You pick out the slices that you want, and the price is determined by weight. I believe Bonci’s was 18 euro/kg, which is considered to be quite expensive for Rome, but when you compare it to the crazy prices we pay in Sydney, it all seems relatively cheap. Each day there are different slices being created, with the topping choices being seasonal, innovative and creative. The best option is to ask for a bit of everything and just enjoy it, this is not a time to be worrying about your waistline. The venue has no seating, so grab your pizza and find a place outside to devour this truly amazing pizza experience. Of course, no one will judge you if you go in for more…it’s completely understandable when something tastes so good.
