Another one bite’s the dust off our Bucket List….Breakfast in Surry Hills on a Sunday is the perfect way to start the last day of the weekend. Four ate Five is situated on Crown St and is tiny in size, especially when it’s bucketing down with rain and they can’t make use of the outdoor tables. We had a 20 minute wait so we grabbed a coffee next door and sheltered ourselves from the rain.
White panelled windows looking out to gloomy Crown St.
We order some beverages….Freshly squeezed juice.
Pretty Rose & Apple tea.
Tea time. I couldn’t have picked a better day for this warm beverage.
This is pretty much the extent of the seating in Four ate Five, with a few more tables at the front near the street window. Does anyone know if the painting on the left of the women in the red dress is by Bruno Dutot? …I’m pretty sure this is the guy that paints the same lady on New South Head Road in Edgecliff, the silhouette looks exactly the same. I want one!
Back to breakfast…what did we eat? Natural Muesli with Seasonal Fruit and Organic Yoghurt.
Spice up your morning with some Moroccan Baked Eggs with Almonds, Labne and Organic Sourdough.
Fresh and light Smoked Salmon & Avocado on Soy and Linseed Bread with Ricotta, Fresh Parsley and Poached Eggs.
Egg Yolk Porn.
So there we have it folks…another Sydney breakfast. If you’re on Crown and looking to eat breakfast/brunch/lunch then this place is high up on my suggestions list. The atmosphere is relaxed, wait staff are super friendly and the menu is filled with so many yummy items that you just know you’ll be back to try some more.
