Hello!
Sorry for being MIA, things are rather busy on the Kiki front :). This post has been on my agenda for a while now, so here we are, already in June…boy oh boy time flies way too fast! This post follows on from my last post at Kazbah in Darling Harbour, which you can check out here. On another night that week, I was invited for a blogger dinner at Dragon Boat Restaurant. Situated upstairs at Harbourside, the view from the balcony is spectacular. The night was crystal clear, and we got to watch the city sparkle whilst having dinner. A banquet style menu was prepared so that we could try a wide array of dishes from the menu. There was a lot of food to go through, so get yourself comfortable whilst I share with you the menu below.
I had to add this photo in, as I just want to say that our waiter for the evening was absolutely fabulous and put a smile on my face all night.
A whole duck was initially bought out and then carved up to make the Crispy Duck wrapped Pancakes with Hoi Sin .
Beautifully cooked Scallops in Garlic Sauce and Chilli.
Eggplant stuffed with Prawn Meat and served with a Sweet Chilli Sauce.
Mince Pork stuffed in a Egg Roll.
A massive King Prawn served in a Garlic and Butter Sauce.
Simple but very flavoursome, the Mushroom in Black Pepper Sauce was a favourite from the evening.
Who can not love dumplings. The Dragonboat specialty, Pork Dumplings.
The remainder of the Peking Duck from the first course was then prepared and served as a spectacular Duck Fried Rice.
To finish off, we were served a platter of Freshly cut Fruit and also a Glutinous Mango Sticky Cake. The texture of the cake was very different to any cake I had ever tasted before, and was sticky and dry in texture. I wasn’t in love with it, but I do love good Kiwi Fruit, with the zingy flavour a great way to end the meal.
