Hi Hi Hi! Every time I get into a steady rhythm of posting blog content, I seem to back it up with an extremely busy period at work. In between the stress and tiredness from getting in early and working back late, I haven’t had the motivation to blog at night. My big project came to a close on Friday last week, so I will hopefully have more of a work/life balance from now on. Although there has been a lot of stress, there has also been some really good things happening:
* Last Monday I got to take part in an event with my favourite food blogger Not Quite Nigella (NQN) and Olympus. We lunched at Ottos on Woollomooloo Wharf, I got to speak in person to fellow foodie lovers and directly to one of Australia’s best bloggers, we got to test out the new Olympus EM-1 camera (I wan’t one)!, Lorraine from NQN demonstrated some really useful food styling and photography tips, and I got to eat a slice of her awesome Sweet Potato Paleo Brownie, which is gluten and dairy free.
* Vivd Festival of Light is on – this isn’t a personal one but more of a general thing that is making me happy. Although the crowds are chaotic, the lights are still amazing so be sure to explore it.
* I got to attend the opening of Via Napoli in Hunter’s Hill last night. I mention many times that I have a grand love for Neapolitan Pizza so this was a whole lot of foodie fun! I took my little sister and we enjoyed copious amounts of antipasto and slices of the best pizza in Sydney. I love these guys!
Now, back to the blogging….Tuesdays are almost as bad as Monday’s. The weekend is still more then an arms reach away, and for me, there is generally nothing exciting to do on a Tuesday night, so my social calendar is generally quite empty. To make it a little more exciting, my Great Ocean Road photos seemed to be a good fit. They make me smile every time I look at them. This is part two from our road trip and covers the sunrise and scenery shots from Apollo Bay, breakfast at Wickens, action shots from the drive and of course the beautiful Twelve Apostles. If you want more, check out part one to see photos from the Melbourne CBD to Apollo Bay.
After watching the sunrise, we were in need of some good coffee & food before we completed the remainder of our drive to the Twelve Apostles. On the main strip of shops in Apollo Bay, we found Wickens Provedore & Delicatessen. We start with a Cappuccino and Piccolo Latte, which convinces me that you can get a really good coffee anywhere in Victoria.
…and to eat. Perfectly cooked Poached Eggs with Grilled Mushrooms and Bacon.
Muesli with Greek Yoghurt & Poached Pear. So pretty!
I definitely haven’t tried any other breakfast joint in Apollo Bay, but can happily say that this is a good one!
