Ciao amici…So exactly a month later I have found the time and wifi to post again. I’m currently in Prague sitting in our hotel as it is cold & rainy outside, even Sydney has better weather then here atm. Seems like a lifetime ago that we were actually in Roma, which so far has been my favourite city. We only stayed for 3 days which is not enough to really enjoy it. I guess that just means that I have an excuse to go back again one day soon. We did eat out at restaurants but I am not really sure what happened with me and my camera there…seems like I totally forgot to capture those times. Instead I share with you a post full of cafe & self bought food.
Morning macchiato….I’m getting very used to the full strength coffee. Generally in Italy people will just grab their coffee at the bar standing, drink and then be off on their merry way.
Morning toasted sandwich with cheese & tomato from a local cafe…Like most of Europe, Italians dont eat or have a very small breakfast in the morning with their main meal being lunch.
Photo moment in front of the Trevi Fountain..
The beautiful Pantheon.
Giolitti- Via Uffici del Vicario
This place has to have the best gelato in Rome. It is right around the corner from the Pantheon, and we managed to visit twice in our three day stay. Plenty of seating outside and some inside if you want to sit and enjoy.
Plenty of flavours to choose from….
Looking extremely happy with my choice of caramelised fig and mango….I would recommend both flavours any day!

Perfect day being a tourist at the Colosseum.
Angelino Ai Fori dal 1947 – Via dei Fori Imperiali
After walking around the Colosseum we stopped off at this restaurant/cafe for a bite to eat. I guess any restaurant near a major tourist attraction is a little un-authentic due to it’s need to cater to mass tourists but this one ended up being pretty good for a basic and quick lunch.
We sat outside in the canopied garden which was a nice escape from the sun and heat.
Isabelle went with the tomato and mozzarella panini…possibly the best filling choice in my books.
Jes had the ham and cheese panini.
My choice, the caprese salad.
and a bit of watermelon to finish off the meal.

The Government building in Rome..such amazing architecture.
Rooftop Picnic – Trastevere
This is the view from our rooftop terrace. We hired out an apartment through Air BNB and were staying in Trastevere which is further out from the main section of the city. The roof terrace was definitely the selling point for us and of course we had to enjoy a picnic up there to watch the sunset.
From the supermarket we purchased some prosciutto and spicy salami.
Tomatoes.. I’m not sure what it is but Italy definitely has the best tomatoes in Europe, they are always blood red and so tasty.
Black olives with chilli.
Block of provolone which is a semi hard yellow cheese with a mild flavour.
To finish…some fresh cherries this time.
Sunset in Roma….take me back :).
Next stop blog post….Napoli. I have plenty of amazing food photos to share with you from there.
Much love from rainy Prague
