Want to take a visit to the most popular place in Sydney at the moment? The rooftop at Coogee Pavilion opened just before the end of last year, just in time for Sydneysiders to enjoy its open-space beauty during the summer. Having visited the lower ground of the Pavilion earlier in the year (check out that Coogee Pavilion blog post here), we loved what Merivale had done with the place. Who doesn’t love a beach side location in Sydney?
When I say the place is popular, this is a slight understatement. The place is actually pumping. We headed upstairs for some Aperol Spritz’s (my absolute faves) hoping that we would snag a table big enough for lunch. No such luck. I really wanted to try out the Mediterranean menu that they have going up there, but we decided to head down to the ground floor instead and got a table instantly.
The food on the ground floor is also great, so I really wasn’t complaining. This just means we will have to come back again soon.
All in all – this is the perfect place to hang out. You’re close enough to the beach, great food and even better drinks are available, there are ping-pong tables to entertain you for hours, and just a generally laid back beach side vibe.
Boy I love you summer…please don’t leave us!
