It’s crazy to think that I took all of these photos close to a year ago now. My lateness in posting is not acceptable, but I will agree that the context of this post is more desirable at this time of the year when Christmas slowly creeps up on us. In the last two years I’ve been lucky to travel to 5 different European cities during Christmas/New Year time, and I must say that the atmosphere is just beautiful. The cities come alive with their lights, nativity scenes and decorations, and the feeling of Christmas is definitely more prominent and more meaningful compared to Sydney.
Here are a couple of holiday snaps whilst walking around London at Convent Garden and Trafalgar Square, as well as photos from two amazing meals at two very different & memorable restaurants.
Breakfast at Dishoom
I am so happy that I got to experience this restaurant after reading so many good things about it. I find it hard to find good Indian food in Sydney, so whenever I’m in London I make sure that we try somewhere out. This time we ventured to Dishoom for breakfast and I am still dreaming about the spiced chai drink that I ordered. It had the most unique and spicy flavour, and definitely something I will be returning back for one day. On a cold day you really can’t go past their bacon naan roll. Find out more here: http://www.dishoom.com/.
Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park
This is the perfect place to meander around, try some Christmas goodies, drink hot chocolate and mulled wine, and truly feel like you’re in a Christmas fairytale. You can find out more info here, and also book tickets for ice skating: http://www.hydeparkwinterwonderland.com/.
Dinner at Quattro Passi, London.
If you’re looking to treat yourself over the Christmas season, then this is definitely my pick. We were lucky enough to dine here for dinner and got to experience 5 courses of stunning Italian cuisine, with ingredients being flown straight from the Amalfi Coast where they have their original Quattro Passi restaurant in Sorrento. Explore more of the menu here: http://www.quattropassi.co.uk/.
